This template is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It could be used by the template {{Lang}} with language code de to include articles in Category:Articles containing 德語-language text, if the category was created (using {{Category articles containing non-English-language text |德語 |de}}). For example: {{Lang |de |some text in 德語}}, which wraps the text with <span lang="de">. Also available is {{Lang-de |some text in 德語}} which displays as 德語: some text in 德語.
It is used by {{de icon}} and {{Link language|de}} to display the language of an external link. These templates could add articles to Category:Articles with 德語-language external links, if the category was created (using {{Non-English-language external links category |code=de |name=德語}}).
