百科全書，或者是百科全書，嘛有講百科書iahsu，目的是欲佇有限的空間描寫各種領域的齊捌。強調題目齊全，深度比較德就卡輸。因為野心大，一般有某種程度的權威。

1世紀的羅馬人Gaius Plinius Secundus篇的Naturalis Historiae是所知影上早的百科全書作品。當中伊據37章關係博物學，建築，醫學，地質，地理，兼其他的世事。照伊佇頭事講的，是對超過200个作者的2000項作品去整理出20,000件事實，閣加添伊個人的經驗。
歐洲中世紀學者Seville的Isidore佇大約630年篇的Etymologiae算是彼个時台的頭一部百科全書。當中和448章，攏總20管。
